Police Brutality Caught On Tape: Walter Scott Dead After Being Shot By North Charleston Police Offi
The issues institutional racism and police brutality have been at the forefront of America media for the last 3 years. It started with the death of Trayvon Martin in 2012, and continued with the deaths of Mike Brown and Eric Gardner in 2014.
This past Saturday in North Charleston,SC, another African American male, Walter Scott, became yet another victim of police violence, only this time video evidence clearly shows the Scott being shot and killed by police after running away from a North Charleston police officer, on Saturday. He was killed during what was a "routine" traffic stop.
In all instances each victim was unarmed. What made matters worse in this case, was the fact the the officer attempted to plant a weapon while Scott laid lifeless with his hands cuffed behind his back. And the icing on the cake, for two days, Officer Slager was unaware that this video was being taken by an anonymous bystander.
In 48 hours, Slager had enough to develop his side of the story that would almost certainly have held up in court. The video below goes against his story. I'll give you a fair warning, its very graphic in nature. Take a look.
